Leader Appreciation Day
Today!
Today, Girl Scouts thanks the leaders of our daughters' Girl Scout troops for their time, dedication, and passion to this organization and more importantly, to our daughters. Becoming a leader takes time and training. There is a mountain of paperwork to keep track of. There are many different personalities of girls to manage, and there are many directions a troop may want to explore (all at the same time). It takes many hours, sometimes days, to plan one troop meeting. Did you know that there are two special trainings a leader has to attend just to go on a simple overnight camping trip? Did you know your daughter's troop leader is a volunteer?
Please take a moment today to thank your daughter's troop leader for her time and her talents that she freely gives to our girls.
And to you troop leaders, thank you. You are shaping a generation of women, teaching them through your words and actions what it means to be a woman and a citizen. They are learning that they can do anything if they are willing to try. They are learning that they can positively affect the world around them, and they are learning to be themselves. One day, we'll watch them pass it on.
